Can someone explain how the Michigan unemployment extensions work?
I just got a letter saying that I have to apply for EB, reregister with MIWorks, and present a record of my weekly job search. My neighbor just told me that, regardless of their place in the 99 weeks, all unemployment ends the third of January. This is the first day of my last semester. I have a job already lined up, I just need my certification. Therefore, I have to finish this semester!) I ask because, although there is no No worker left behind program, I was part of yet I have a few months of training. (No work in my field, so I've been training for the field of medicine). I have not reached 99 weeks, the Executive Board my last 20 which will take me until graduation and my externship. If all benefits are ending, does that include me? Or give me the 99 weeks? This is so confusing and so tied up phone lines are not I was able to get through the week.
Because Congress has not approved the bill extension of unemployment benefits are cut. The following link gives an excellent explanation of what will and will not be available to you in the future. http://www.michigan.gov/documents/uia/NEW_EUC-Internet__StaffREV11-9_300228_7.pdf
