employment and labor law

What does the law work on sending a person's home or not come calling at work?
I have two questions dealing with the same issue. The first: Is your workplace you go home without reason, even if you do not want? Second: Can you call your place of work before work to inform you that are not needed for work, and you can not come to work, even if you are in the program? The workplace in question is not will workplace. The workplace is in Michigan, and I need the fonts to display the owner of the workplace.
