How can I get social security number?. I'm in charge of J2 visa.?
I have EAD (employment authorization document). Can I apply social security numbers with this EAD card.else must demonstrate working.just started where I am now seeking a job.i can not show where I working.but I am looking for work when they are asking anyone SSN.plz help J2 dependent me.also'm visa.what are documents should I file?. hints and tips for moving forward would appreciated.thankyou
Yes, with an EAD that is eligible to apply for an SSN. You do not need to be working to be eligible, only entitled to work. Go to the website of the Social Security and http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/ Administratin click the form on the right of the screen SS-5. The instructions tell you what documents needed to establish eligibility. Return to your local office. If you need something, I'll let you know. good luck
