The military wife moving to the base. Need a job, have a degree?

I am going to move with my husband in May to its new PCS station at Fort Benning, GA. I have a BA in Psychology and am interested in working on the base. I am in contact with the base for more information tomorrow, but I wonder of any military wives, how do you feel using the Employment preparation group to find a job? I heard that it may even be able to put myself in a position working at the base. Can I contact them to find work now or wait til I have to live there for assistance? How soon Do any of you find jobs? What are the quality of work that has also found? I found many search engines online military spouse, as the U.S. JOBS, etc, but I wonder if you find a job faster if you go into the base to help the person instead of applying to jobs on the line area. Thanks in advance for your time and comments!

Personally, I never found it helpful. I went there (this was at Fort Bragg) and whatever it was, was a guy who helps to look for work online. They provide computers and tell you what places to go a. But with his degree, and a smaller pool of applicants, insurance you can find someone that can really help. I would start applying now if you see an opening. Many of the spouses must work well below their grade because they cannot find jobs, so deal with it aggressively. Good luck!
