How to explain the differences in employment?
Exactly how do you explain the differences in employment on a resume? I had health problems (cancer survivor) that was not working for at least 3 years. When I did get well and healthy enough, I continued my job search. I found seasonal jobs at local stores for retail sales and also took classes for certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist program through WIA. My resume is that gap since 2002, when he was fired – even cancer surgery in 2004 and 2005. How do I word the gaps? Thank you. Also I am an "older worker." Thanks
As others have said, I think you can just say what you said in your question. If you are fully recovered now I want to stress that they have no concern that you start working with them and then take a lot of free time. If you were able to do anything during that period (for example, learn new skills, volunteering) mentions that as well.
