michigan unemployment questions and answers
Can a minor receive unemployment checks in Michigan?
I'm 17, in school, and I've been holding a legally documented for over a year job at a hardware store. In light of recent events, I suspect they might be planning to fire me the moment they have a legal reason to. So is it even possible for me to receive unemployment if my discharge is done the right way? I want to say no because I'm a minor and Therefore supported by my parents, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Best answer will be chosen tonight assuming my question is not answered. Please provide evidence that it is a fact. I will not even consider the reliability of an answer that says "I think so" or vice versa. It might also help to inform you that I am not part of a union.
if you are a high-school student, you will not get unemployment unless you drop out and become a full-time job seeker. as a student you are presumed to not be always looking for full-time employment. your age is irrelevant.
