oregon unemployment quit job

Should I be honest about your previous job?
Recently I received a call from a recruiter at a job I am a perfect fit. On the screen phone, asked me if I had left one of my previous work and if I had given a note of two weeks. I told him I had not the note of two weeks, but instantly felt it was wrong to be honest about that. Unemployment rate here in Oregon is 10% or 200,000 people. What do you think? Should I lie? Will they find out? Please only serious answers.
In a background screening prior to any offer of work, always check your previous work. It's too bad if they are honest, because trust me, anyone can learn and can return to bite you in a bad way. Just be honest, even if this means that if you look well – usually can be explained if it is once. Good luck!
