Any Four-Week Summer Jobs Out There?

This is sort of a last minute question, but I begin college at the end of June and I really want a four week summer job somewhere before class starts. A really short-term job like this might be hard to find, but maybe someone out there has an idea. I have a relative in the airline business, so I could fly anywhere in the U.S. to work with his pass (if there is free room and board offered). I could stay where I am in Virginia, but I live in the boonies and have already applied to our only temp agency. I’m nervous that I will be sitting around for 4 weeks until school starts. Suggestions? Thanks!

Babysitting is always good short-term work. Just post flyers around town. Normally babysitters go for around $10 where I live, and if they have CPR certification and EMT certification they go for around $20. Most parents want sitters to be able to do some light housework and help their kids with homework. Also, you may want to try other odd jobs such as walking dogs, house sitting, light yard work, taking elderly people on errands. It is all short term, and it all pays fairly well. Plus you don’t normally have to go outside of your own city. I too am a college student and am starting school in July, so I know how difficult it can be to find a short term summer job, but don’t rule out odd jobs and babysitting.
