unemployment architects
Do you think the unemployment crisis will last much longer?

Just got laid off, 11 days before Christmas, and jobs are difficult to find in my field, I am an architect. Is there a good chance that the economy will improve soon?

I think it bottomed out last year, but there will be a lengthy recovery. For architects, it will be much, much longer. I would say at least a year before architectural firms feel stable enough to start hiring again, and probably 5 years until the industry recovers. I've heard of a few firms in Washington, DC, that is slowly starting to hire and rehire … but, again, much more in the area still crushing jobs or closing their doors forever. I would like side to get a job immediately, although, of course, still pumping resumed.
