The decrease in the rate of employment, because ..?
WASHINGTON – The unemployment rate unexpectedly fell in January to 9.7 percent, while that employers cut 20,000 jobs, according to a report that offered hope the economy will add jobs soon. The unemployment rate fell 10 percent due to a household survey found the number of Americans employed increased by 541,000, the Labor Department said Friday. Loss employment is calculated from a separate survey of employers. "I have curiosity. They say that employees increased by half a million while yet at the same time shed 20,000 jobs. My question is, is this the truth, or drop, as they have no people who have to work for X amount of time and surroundings another time for them not having some of them because its been X amount of time, it seems as if the employment rate has fallen, when in reality it is only being counted.
You are correct about them not counting people who have been without work for X amount of time that is really hard to get an accurate picture of real situation of unemployment in this country. edit: Not sure why I would thumbs down for this, just hard to get a representation unemployment states, and those who have been unemployed for a long time (like me, a housewife) are not counted
